This is a ridiculously awesome thread. Seriously, if anyone ever wonders why we all love ARRG so much, they only need to look here.

This thread is ace!! I have been meaning to add to it for ages, and finally have time to sit and do it. Yay!

My real name is Helen Daisy Kells and I'm 33. I've lived in Edinburgh for about 13 years, before that I worked up in Pitlochry and Arrochar in hotels...which was mostly a great big party. Before that I lived in St Monans. I'm married to Graham. I changed my name to Daisy unoffically when I was 15 when I decided that I needed a 'cosmic name'....and it stuck...half my freinds know me Helen and half Daisy. I changed it officially 7 years ago as I didn't like or could relate to my 'real' middle name (Campbell - its was from my Dads side and I haven't seen him since i was 6/7).

I have a little girl called Poppy Summer, she is 3 now, and great fun! - everytime before I go to Derby practice, she tells me "not to fall mummy"..."and tell your friends not to fall too" Lol. She got her first set of peppa pig roller skates for her 3rd birthday and has chosen her own derby name 'Wheels on the bus Poppy'....cool!

I love derby, I used to love skating as kid, young girl, and went pretty much everywhere on my skates. I hadn't been on skates for years, then I asked for a pair for my 33 birthday (in January) and found Roller Derby, got my name on the freshmeat list, and here I am! ....Soooo glad I found derby! It has been really great for me and helped me find myself again.....I got PND after having Poppy that lasted for about 2 years and I really lost all sense of my identity and kinda forgot who I was. Derby really helped me firmly put my feet back on the ground and hold my head high. It was the first thing in a long time that I could do for myself that I was really passionate about.

Things I like: rainbows, sunshine and sparkly stuff! I also like...in no particular order...festivals, music, the beach..but not really getting covered in sand, true blood, buffy, cheesy Will Ferrell movies...and 80's movies, going to the pub with good friends, mexican food, oracle cards, an interest in wicca - but not practising, photography, painting (when I can motivate myself), baking, warm slippers, open fires, fun people, surprises, reading when I can find the time (usually once a year and get all booky-like & read 4 at once! for a month or 2) I could blab on for ages about the kinda things i like....

Things I don't like: cold crappy weather (although occasionally its ok), ummm this one is actually harder than things I like, I'm pretty easy going....I guess I don't like certain qualities in people, like shallowness, rudeness, superiority.

Things I do: I was a photographer for a while, worked for venture and also done freelance, I was also a nanny for about 10 years (for same family on and off through college and work). I have recently trained as a HypnoBirthing practioner and have just been doing my first couple class, it's great! It is a childbirth education class that teaches women how to relax deeply/self hypnosis while in labour (I done it while having Poppy). I started up a small cupcake company called 'daisy loves cupcakes' but then realised that I didn't have enough time to put into it, so its on the back burner for mo.

About me: I'm generally really easy going, eclectic and totally disorganised, I like to laugh at stupid things, and I'm a total dreamer.....'head in the clouds'.

This has taken me a stupid amount of time to write! - I have had to stop like every 2 sentences to entertain Poppy. I'm off to tire her out now - going to have a movie night...and sleep is Poppy's nemesis!
