Hey Ladeess, I am coming along to the fresh meat on November the 20th. I am very excited but need to get me equipment sorted.. Did most of you buy your equipment new for your first session?? Is there a good place to look out for second hand equipment or anyone know anybody who has a pair of size 6 boots they can lend or sell on second hand?? Thought it was worth a pop.. I know some ladies already and am cannae wait to get started! Look forward to hearing/skating with you all! Hurt Reynolds...

Hey there!
Some people buy new and some buy second hand, there's no right way to do it. BUT! Invest in good pads! Like seriously.
Hope to see you soon!

Hey, I have some Riedell R3s in a size 6. I was going to keep them as outdoor skates since I got new skates like a month ago buuuut I could kinda use the money and I pretty much never skate outside anyway, especially since it's all wintery and shit now. They are in really good condition. I only skated on them for about 4 months. You can get them for £115 new so I'd probs sell them for like £80 if you're interested?

Thanks for replying!
They sound perfect! I was wondering if that would include the outdoor wheels? I will be attempting to practice skating outside a lot because I live at porty near the beach.. I understand they are about another 20 quid...
I am really interested but would probably be looking to spend a bit less. I totally understand that if it's not worth your while! PM me if you want, if not, thanks for the great opportunity and I shall keep looking!

Instead of starting a whole new thread I thought I'd just add to this since it is sort of about FM on 20th.
I am a wearer of specs, can I wear my old specs or do I need to get contact lenses?

Hey honey... many of us wear glasses... I tend to wear contacts to practice but a lot of other girls wear their glasses... the first few lessons are usually not contact (such as hitting drills) so just wear spec and see how you get on!

What's your prescription? I manage to get away with not wearing my glasses during practice at all! There's a few websites I know about that sell glasses for £6, you could maybe get them so if they break who cares? Also, opticians can supply sports glasses that can strap to your head to remove the risk of them falling off and killing someone. Try fresh meat and see how that works though

I'm a bit too blind to go specs free but good shout on the sports specs/cheap specs . I'll be able to get contacts at some point I just wouldn't have the chance before Sunday thanks to me being a tad too enthusiastic about overtime opportunities at work. I have some nice cheap Internet glasses to get me by for now I think they are a little bit weak but they'll do the job and if they get trashed I won't mind.
