Hello Boys and Girls of the WFTDA Apprenticeship Scheme!!!! Congratulations by the way I wanted to pick your brains... I have now moved to Canada and the team I will be joining...once I get better from my ultimate derby injury...pregnancy!!! lol...are restructuring the travel team as it was picked by friends for friends..if you know what I mean. They want to run tryouts for the travel team but in your vast opinion what is the best way to do this? Is there a skater grading form or anything like that out there??? They just want to make sure that it's selected fairly and to be be honest the more I think about it the more complicated it seems. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Brut-Ali-T xxx

Thanks very much ladies...you're all superstars!!! My email is [email protected]I'm in Red Deer Alberta, I didn't realise you had left the Uk too Hayles. The pregnancy was a massive shock, so much for being infertile eh? So now I'm doing off skates stuff, running practices, nso roles and trying to help out the newly formed mens team. So loads to do, I never really had anything to do with all the other stuff before just skated. I'm slowly digging up information and getting better informed on things. I've got an NSO role in edmonton soon doing action stats??? I've never heard of this, but am under the impression I have to mark down who is being effective from either team and where on the track. Thanks so much for all your help xxx

Thanks so much for all your help xxx Yup. been here just over a year now but we are moving on in Feb (hopefully back to Edinburgh nut nowt 100% yet! Crossing fingers here!) Stats (whenever I have done them) seem to be more jammer related. You track things like time on clock when the jam starts, who gets lead, how many passes they make, if they go to penalty box and how many points are scored and often some also check the right amount of points get recorded on the score board. You are under the right impression - it helps bench coaches know whose being effective and who isn't
