I couldn't really find a specific person to e-mail so thought I'd ask on the forum.

Hey, I'm Annika and I am desperate to join Roller Derby and ARRG - I already have skates etc. and I practise a bit on my own - but I'm not able to try out right now and not sure when ARRG will be recruiting again so I want to offer my services as a volunteer, even if it's for the tiniest things.

Do you need any volunteers, if yes who would I contact for that?

Thanks, you guys rock :)

Hey annikaT!

I'm sure we can find a place for you here in the machine that is ARRG while you wait for a spot on the fresh meat program. I've asked about and someone will be in touch via here real soon.

Thanks!

Andy Clockwise.

Hi, Annika,

We would definitely love for you to get involved! :gbanana:

We have scheduled or next Fresh Meat intake for the 15 January. Send an email to [email protected] to place your name on the waiting list.

In the meantime, there are several non-ARRG practices that are organised by some of the skaters themselves, and happen in various places around Edinburgh if you fancy getting some actual skating time in with the girls. These tend to be organised through this section of the forum (however, these are INDEPENDENT skate sessions, and are not affiliated in any way with ARRG itself):

viewforum.php?f=5

And finally, we always have Non-skating official (NSO) jobs that need to be filled for bouts. Our home bouts happen at Meadowbank Sports Centre, and while we don't have any scheduled any time soon, there are often opportunities to come along to our practices to try out the different positions and gain a deeper understanding of the rules. You can email our Referee Committee to register your interest, and someone will get back to you about getting involved in this way. Their address is: [email protected].

We look forward to getting to know you!

xxShootin' Annie (on behalf of the Secretarial Committee).

Hiay!

And one more for your list!

Bout Management Crew! We always need volunteers to help us set up at bouts and look after stalls etc, so if you drop your contact details to [email protected] we can get in touch about helping at future bouts!

xxxxx

Thanks Crazylegs, I'm about to e-mail the bout management crew now :)

I sent an e-mail to get my name on the waiting list for Fresh Meat the other day, should I get an e-mail confirming it or should I just assume it's gone on the list?
