And- when a jammer is scoring points for off-track players does that happen when she physically passes them (ie passes the sin bin) or does she get a number of points equivalent to the number of off-track opposing skaters when she passes the first opposing blocker?

Fouling out is the term used for reaching 7 trips to the penalty box and results in you being ejected. Ejection is being removed from the game and being sent to the dressing room, you are not allowed to return to the bench or even sit in the crowd.

Ejection is also awarded for acts like gross misconduct, it is not a penalty in it's own right, but is a consequence of a serious breach of the rules.

Ejection is only for the current bout. If it was part of a tournament you can play in a later bout.

Expulsion is for serious breach of the rules and will see you banned from any further bouts in a tournament.

Hope this explains it. I don't have my rules to hand but suspect quoting numbers etc may complicate things.

NOTT points or ghost points are awarded when you score your first point in any scoring pass. Ie when you pass legally the first member of the opposing team on you will be awarded all points for skaters in the box or who failed to make it on to track at the start of the jam. Not on track points are for skaters in the penalty box, ghost points are for skaters who failed to be on track at the start of the jam.

If on the final whistle of a jam the opposition have players out of play to the front of the pack and you have scored points on that pass, you will be awarded a point for each out of play opponent also.

Was just confused by the practise test which used the term ejection for fouling out, but it makes sense now.

The online test you did is to the old ruleset, would probably be best to warn the others.

There is no such thing as ejection any more. The term was merely changed to "fouling out" to avoid this kind of confusion.

The term expulsion is for serious rule breaches and sees you sent out for the remainder of a game. There may also be suspended in a tournament situation, depending on nature and severity of the act.

The decision for suspension is usually made by whoever oversee's the tournament (may be the head ref, independent games committee etc).

DeRanged's behaviour at the WFTDA Championships 2009 is a prime example of something which warrants a suspension - she basically punched a skater in the back of the head mid-jam...
