Result from last night's practice - rules question.
Both packs start well back near the jammer line. 1st whistle blows, neither pack moves. One jammer gets bored & skates clockwise, through the pack in the wrong direction, hitting a blocker.
In this scenario; Is she allowed to skate clockwise? Is she allowed to leave the jammer line without the jammer whistles having sounded? Is she allowed to cross the pivot line in the opposite direction?
I realise the blocking would be called at a foul due to being clockwise blocking if initiated by the jammer in this case.
Just wondering if this tactic could be used to run out the clock and if there would be anything the jammer could do to force gameplay.
Ever intrigued, Maullibu xx

Maul - Jazz posted a question up about this in 'training' too. Too lazy to put a link haha!
The jammer doesn't have to actually sart physically on the jammer line - she can start anywhere behind it, but can only pass it after the double whistle, so technically yeah she can skate about as long as she doesn't engage anyone, but she'd just risk putting herself at a disadvantage I guess if the other pack got the game started suddenly.
Just to say there's nothing the jammer can do to run the clock down (apart from defensive jamming) - it's the pack who start the game, so the pack would be running the clock down by not moving until the other pack force things to start with a no pack situation or something.
