So it says:

3.6.4.1 Only the Pivot's helmet cover may have stripes on it that run the length of the helmet in any direction or marks that might be confused with stripes.

and

3.6.5.1

Only the Jammer's helmet cover may have stars on it or any marks that might be confused with stars. (Player numbers are permitted on helmets per Section 3.7.2.2

Am a being a ding-dong or is it a bit unclear?

Like a Roll Brit they interpreted it to be in reference only to HELMET COVERS, e.g. the Jammer pantie should not be easily confused with the Pivot pantie and visa versa.

Are we sticking to this reading of it?

Or going for like: no HELMET worn by a blocker should have stripes running the length of it or stars or marks that might be confused with stars?

If the latter then loads of Nutcase helmets are out as are, er I think the entire GRG squad....

I'm pretty sure that some helmets with stripes cant be worn due to the confusion... Although i guess its down to the referee. I think there was some other forum i was reading where people had to cover the stripes on their helmets / stars.

On top of that, is it not Glasgow Rollergirls that all have the same helmets with the red and grey stripes on them? If so all of them would technically be illegal...

I'm sure for the purposes of Hassel and other 'local' bouts, i'm sure we can laise with the visiting team and come to some agreement. As you say, there are now ALOT of leagues in the UK who are sponsored by Nutcase. My beloved checkerboard-sunday-best helmet would be illegal if we were to read into this too literally. With that in mind, I dont suppose the Nutcase-fellow would be too happy if we asked for a replacement helmet since mine is potentially illegal! And as has been pointed out, the whole Glasgow team cannot be expected to replace their shiney new (BEUTIFUL) tartan helmets.

I'm sure we can use our own discretion on this one... I wont give up my checkerboard baby without a fight!

This has already been discussed elsewhere on the forum. Maybe the refs bit though.

Anyhoo for the purpose of this bout we will be following the practice used as Roll Brit. As long as their Helmet panties do not look anything like their new fancy helmets then its all fine. A problem would arise is they started using a black base and a green/gray tartan stripe. But they mainly use their white ones so all will be fine.

Yes the new rule is confusing and I am still waiting on some clarification of this. As I think it would be terrible if GRG had to change their new helmets for this.
