After a discussion with Brutally Frank last night, i thought it might be good to explain the Cutting Track situation in a bit more detail, as i know its a little bit complicated and there is quite a few questions on this
If a Jammer cuts track, and passes the lead blocker/pivot of the opposition team, then this is a major, even if there is the some of your team ahead.
If the Jammer cuts track, and passes another opposition skater, this is a minor. At this point the jammer cannot gain lead jammer status, If they pass another 2 of the opposition, they can still be on 3 minors.
If this Jammer then falls back behind the 3 opposition that they have passed illegally, and then repasses legally, they can gain lead jammer status provided the other jammer has not received lead jammer status.
If the Jammer has gained more than 20ft on the front of the pack before they pass the opposition again legally, they will not get lead jammer status, they need to still be in the engagement zone
I think this explains it.. any questions and we will try and answer them
Remember however that you cannot gain speed or use the fact your are out of play to your advantage.
p.s I may need bits expanded on as its been a few hours and my heads like a sieve
