Probably not a huge difference. But I've moved all of mine with the massive chunks to the outside because I seem to rely on that lip for push when I do crossovers (which is why I don't like slim wheels), and I didn't want it interfering.

Tush said that chunking is super common with Atom wheels and shouldn't really affect performance (though the wheel I've got has a relatively small chunk). So it's not really a defect per se. She also said that it's probably the JK floor causing it as it's some kind of covered concrete.
