Hello I am Hayleigh (wouldn't have guessed with my user-name right?) and I am a complete and absolute Newbie. I have a underused pair of 'retro' skates in my cupboard that have barely seen the light of day in two years but when I was a young 'un you couldn't get me off of wheels - be it skates, blades or bike so I am excited to be getting back into it and hopefully won't be as terrible as I anticipate. Anyway, I bloody lover Roller Derby and have long assumed it was not a big think in the UK - my bad for not looking - but saw some stuff about it at the Scottish tattoo Convention this week and was all about it. Instantly trying to come up with a Derby name (so many I thought up seem to be taken - BOO!) and plotting how I shall go about saving my pennies for the equipment I'd need to go to a Fresh meat Sunday. Anyway, hello...

Howdy, I'm Lexi. Was hoping to come out for the next Fresh Meat, but I guess it's full so I'm on the waiting list now! Just wanted to pop in and say hello. I'm looking for skates at the moment and hopefully I can get some stuff together and practice a bit during the summer if a space doesn't open up for the may session! x

Welcome ladies! You will start to find that derby takes over your life and you may just fall in love with everything ARRG! My name is Bullet, I am a member of the New Skater Committee. If you have any questions, just ask either myself or anyone else! We are a friendly bunch
If this session was too full, you could always try some of the other "extra" practice sessions...these are not ARRG sessions, they are practices set up by members in order to get extra practice. I book the CYC sessions on Friday evenings (not every Friday!) and I know we wouldn't mind if new kids came along to try out their skates! There are sessions on Sat mornings in Fife, ?Wed in portobello, and a new session in Stockbridge that I think is on a Mon or Tue. Look around on the forum and just ask if you can come too!!http://www.arrg.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4471http://www.arrg.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1413http://www.arrg.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4583http://www.arrg.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4733 Look forward to seeing you soon! Bullet

Hello, I am Squeak. I am here as Hayleigh (er up there, *waves*) went on about roller derby to the extent that I realised it was an awesome idea. Been lurking a short while, but have actually managed to acquire some skates so probably ought to speak up! I have since skated round my flat in my pyjamas. I'm pretty good. (A total lie. Just ask the cat.) Hope to make it along to the next un-full fresh meat day

It was my fave moment of practice when Fay Bentos shouted *get your bum down lower DONALD* during planks...like a strict school marm.
