I'm recommencing my early Saturday morning extra skate sessions as of next Saturday(16th Jan).

The hall has a great wooden floor to skate on, it's fast(like Meadowbank) & just a little bit tight(ooh baby)~tis a good way to help with those crossovers!

In the past it has allowed a small number(those brave enough to journey to darkest Fife, & those mad enough to get up at silly time on a Saturday morning) of us to put a little extra time in on the things we felt we needed more practice on. I swear it really made a difference to me in progressing to passing my minimum standards.

The details for the sessions are as follows~

Saturday mornings 9am~11am(coffee/tea & cakes at cafe afterwards!)
Bowhill Community Centre, Station Rd, Bowhill, KY5 0BW
map

Currently I have the hall booked up until the end of March. However, the first three Saturdays in Feb are looking a bit unlikely for me, if there were those of you still wanting to use the hall without me on those mornings I can arrange for the hallhire.

I have 2 spaces(first come first claimed!) in my car for anyone wishing to get the train over to Kirkcaldy~I will pick you up at the train station at 8:30am & drop you back at the train station afterwards.

The hall hire cost is a mere £20(if memory serves me correctly) for the two hours(it's not what you know~it's whom, as they say) which we'll just split between whomever is there on the day~cheap & cheerful.

If you need any further information, just holler :gmhappy:

I can't do next Saturday, but I'd definitely be interested after that, and I'm sure Lindsay and Kat probably would be too...I know for definite that Lindsay was trying to book a hall anyway. I would welcome the extra practice too.

So we might come along and fall about all over the place for a while (ok, I will...but I like to feel I'm part of a team p). I'll PM you once I've spoken to Lindsay and Kat :).

I have a car, so I can drive over myself. And as an ex-Fifer I don't mind returning to deepest darkest Fife :D

Hello,

Thanks for this Alma, cake and skate training sounds good for me.

This Saturday should be fine, the only dates I couldnt do would be the 30th and the 6th (holidays :gbanana: )

I can drive over, plenty of space in my car for 4 others, or 8 oompa loompas. So if anyone would like a lift, just let me know.

Cheers, and maybe meeting some of you in the pub later today.

Cho!

Em

This is amazing Alma as i know some of the new skaters couldn't make Sunday and everyone was looking shit hot on Friday and i don't think it'll be long afore they pass their minimums and can get skating on the wednesday too. I know this helped you pass your standards quicker and it's great that you can continue this.

Feeling the derby love xAx

I may pop through randomly if anyone needs to practice hitting / wants target practice.

Wanting to practice some jam skating stuff so the more time on skates the better

It's a great wee hall!! Perfect for practicing things like stops and running starts, I'd like to come through and have a power slide/hockey stop session now that we did it in London - I know what to do, just need to practice!

- and also Alma improved no end when she started doing this so any one who wants a bit of extra help should totally try and make it!

Yeah, im into this.

i tried getting somewhere sorted in Edinburgh, tried the Viewforth church like Daisy suggested and a few other places. Pretty much had replies back saying they have nice flooring and wont want us skating on it.
the only place that offered was going to give us a room the size of a postage stamp and at times when we are at work. Boo hiss!

Mags - il maybe be cheeky and steal a lift with you if thats cool?

:gmheadshot:
