Hey guys,

Obviously we've all been going through this recently and pre-empting the rule change... I can try and answer any questions as best as possible from what I know if you like.

Cider - the number 3 will never be taken because you had -3C which was more often than not called as 3 during bouts. WFTDA have always stated that numbers not be similar to anyone else on the same team so no one would have been able to come along and take 3 or any variation such as III in roman numerals and won't be able to in future.

IF you have something such as extra before or after your number, it's seen as a "vanity plate" as such. Angie for example has always skated as 150 in bouts for example despite having a longer number with points in. My mph bit can still be printed as long as it follows the rules and does not interfere with the number 74 it can remain but will never be called (not that it ever was in my experience).

It's going to be a pain in the ass for some people and will barely affect others. The ones it MAINLY causes a problem for is those with the numerical Pi, infinity etc. Those with Pi were normally called as 314 in bouts by refs so it is down to the individual whether or not they change their number completely or keep 314 without the point.

We have someone for example who has PIE IX (the name of a metro station) as her number. In future she would be called as number 9 (as she was previously) and the PIE part will be smaller before as a vanity thing.

As for updating two evils, as long as the league keeps up with their own records and numbers I wouldn't worry too much from a practicality point of view - two evils is screwed as it is and WFTDA are probably more than aware of the problem. As long as leagues maintain records ensuring no numbers match within then there is little issue with regards to registration and things will happen when they happen...

i can feel the rage!

You might be ok, not sure though. Waiting on a reply. As surely a . or a : doesnt affect it as refs would just read it as 316

I think the symbols are still okay.

They just can't interfere with the number and any skater with symbols or punctuation needs to be aware of how their number will be called in a bout.

Cider can still have -3 but will be called three rather than minus/negative 3

well home bouts (chaos v heathens) aren't really wftda (or affect rankings or whatever) right? so it wouldn't matter so much for home bouts as long as the thistles followed the number rules. then again it would be annoying to print different shirts with/without symbols... hmm!

just reading LRR's site and Hooligal was saying:

So ok numbers are:
01 (if there is a ! it must be no bigger then 2")
4Q
2000
L33T (called as 33)
.08
80.
20ft
30mph (mph must be 2" smaller)
100° (as ° is small anyway)

NOT acceptable
5.0.8
4-5-6
X
XIX
weird symbols like £ or ?
80008
10/6
etc

so, i don't know if that matters or not but that's what she said.

would this number situation only count for wftda sanctioned games?
or *any* games that the TT team play in?
Will we need to get all TT shirts reprinted with our numbers following
the appropriate protocol?
