Hi! I'm moving to Edinburgh for studies in about a week and I'm really interested in getting involved with what scottish roller derby has to offer! I've been playing derby here in Finland (Kallio Rolling Rainbow) for a few months now. I already talked to some of you about joining ARRG practice (I guess it was Lilo & Stitches) and they said it should be fine to join in an existing practice if I've passed my minimums at the time I arrive. As I hurt my leg and had to take a little break from the training I still feel unsure if I have passed the minimums that soon, so I was just wondering I will still be able to get some skating time with you guys in Edinburgh and get help to pass the minimums so I could join in the practices some time soon? I would also love to NSO/basicly do whatever which has anything to do with derby! Thanks for help and lots of derby love!
xxx Elsa

Hi Elsa!
So glad to have you moving over to us! It's a shame that you have had to take time off, as, as i mentioned before our Fresh Meat intake is currently closed.
It's not the end of the world though! There are still other ways to get involved with the league!
However, there are a number of practices that individual skaters organise to get extra track time, outside of the offical ARRG remit. Details of these should in the New Skaters area of the forum, but I can try to track down the oganisers for you too. I think there is one on a Monday and one on a Friday at the moment.
If you continue to skate regularly at these practices, we will be holding another Fresh Meat in the New Year, and you may be able to join in with this!
We would still love to have you involved with the leaguein other ways if this interests you?
Cheers, Stitches.x

Hey! Thanks for the answers, I'm really looking forward to get to meet you guys. I just came back from this awesome Nordic Light derby tournament where five best Nordic teams battled against each other. I'm glad to introduce some Scandinavian roller derby to you lovely scottish rollers! I'll let you know when I arrive - soon!

Hi, I've just moved to Edinburgh as well.
I've been skating with the Glasgow Roller Girls but would love to come along to some of the Monday or Friday practices if they are still going on? Where abouts are they held?
Thanks, Carol x
